Fyne Fiddles - practical ways to great fiddling and it's fun!

Fyne Fiddles is the brainchild of talented performer and teacher (nominated Tutor of the Year at the MG Alba Trad Awards 2015), Amy Geddes, who plays fiddle, viola and sings. A regular live performer - solo, with Dean Owens’ Whisky Hearts band and as one half of transatlantic folk duo Redwood Mountain, Amy also writes & records music and trains teachers across Scotland (with ABC Creative Music) how to deliver creative music classes in schools. Her musical partner in this venture – which was founded as an annual workshop event in 2014 - is guitarist Donald Knox, an experienced music teacher and performer, with bands including The Matt Seattle Band and Carlenjig.
Amy has a deep understanding of the relationship between music and dance, a level of expertise which few players in Scotland possess… and a rare gift for analysing individual needs in a constructive and intuitive way… Alison Carlyle, Convenor, Scots Music Group

…the happiest workshop I have ever attended… inspired even the most timid to participate fully… inspirational … workshop student

Quite simply I believe Amy to be in contention for being the amongst the most talented teachers of traditional fiddle in Scotland today… Linda Morpurgo (Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop)
